In 1885, the tradition of Registered Holsteins began at Forest-Lawn Holsteins. Today, Paul and Cindy Swenson, along with their daughter Ashley and son Christopher are the fifth and sixth generation to continue this tradition. A unique characteristic of our farm is that it holds the title of the oldest continuous Registered Holstein herd in the nation. We currently have a herd of 200 milk cows plus replacement heifers and breeding bulls, all homebred. We milk in a double nine parlor with a freestall barn bedded half with sand and half with mattresses. We have strived for high production in our breeding and management. We have had 20 cows produce more than 40,000 lbs. since 2008, including our third, fourth and fifth cow to produce more than 50,000 lbs. in their lactation on 2x milking. |
| We continue to develop our Molly Family which has provided us with our highest producing cows, including Forest-Lawn Terry Cindy pictured above on the right. We continue to expand our Princess Family, including Forest-Lawn Princess pictured above on the left, which has provided us with many AI contracts in recent years including Forest-Lawn Platte P-Red-ET currently a Super Sampler at Select Sires and Forest-Lawn Patriark-Red-ET at Accelerated Genetics. We plan to continue with the tradition of high quality Registered Holsteins at Forest-Lawn Holsteins. |

We are excited to invite you to come celebrate with us and experience the 2010 MN Holstein Field Day. The day will be full of activity with a breakfast on the farm and sale of our top genetics.
